Marriage - 4 February 1691, Joseph Chettle & Mary Glover, Widow (Thurcaston),
living in Anstey.

Home - Leicester, then Anstey, Leicestershire
Freeman - 7th April 1702, Jospeh Chettle 2nd Son of Richard, late of Leicester, Chandler.
Children of Joseph & Mary:
No Family recorded. The interesting point being that Mary Glover was Married to Robert
Glover at Thurcaston (living in Anstey) in 1681:-
Marriage - 25 June 1681, Robert Glover (Widower) & Mary Burton of Anstey.
Marriage - 11 August 1681, Samuel Shipley of St Martins to Susanna Bowyer.
Both Robert Glover (buried 2 August 1687) & Susana Shipley died, and then came the
following Marriages. Noting that Samuel Shipley was the Brother of Adah Shipley and
Uncle of our Ancestor, John Chettle:-
Marriage - 2nd February 1691/2 Samuel Shipley & Hanah Crofs of Loughborough,
(Thurcaston).
Marriage - 4th February 1691/2 Joseph Chettle & Mary Glover (Widow) both of Anstey.
Burial - September 1711 Mary Chettle buried at Anstey.
Joseph Chettle Married again to a Woman with the same name as his Brother Married
(Elizabeth Bates) most probably from the same family.
Marriage - 25 September 1712, Joseph Chettle & Elizabeth Bates, Thurcaston.
No Family Recorded
Burial - 10th February1721, Elizabeth Chettle, Anstey.
Burial - 2nd February 1728, Joseph Chettle, Anstey. Church Register reads
"died a poor man".
The association shown between Joseph Chettle and Samuel Shipley & Adah Shipley & John
Chettle (Nephew). Points to the fact that Joseph Chettle & John Chettle were Cousins.
