Family 6: The Family of George Rodney Chettle (Fourth Child)

Eliza Chettle - 3rd Daughter Of George Rodney and Ann

Born - 1835/36. 1st known child to be born in London probably Liverpool Street area as George Rodney (her Father) gives his address as Liverpool St in a case at the Old Bailey in 1865 whilst he is a witness to counterfeit money.

1841 Census - Aged 5 living at Eyre Street Hill, St Andrews, East Holborn, London.
1851 Census - Aged 15 living at 105 Belgrave Gate, Leicester with the Family.
Marriage - Aged 18, November 26th at St Pancras Church, London to John Marshall, a witness at her Wedding was her Sister Ann Jane Chettle.

1861 Census - A Son of Eliza and John Marshall named John Marshall aged 5 was living with George Rodney and Ann at 65 Belgrave Gate, Leicester. We have also traced a direct descendant of Eliza (Harry Goff) in Australia. It appears that John Marshall was a Scotsman and after he and Eliza were Married they went back to Scotland. John Marshall ended up as a ships doctor and he and Eliza had several Children some of these being born in the USA. Some of these Children later emigrated to Australia.

1881 Census - Aged 45 living at 134 McLellan Street Govan Lanark, Scotland. Living with Husband, John Marshall, Robert, Son aged 14, born London, Tower Hamlets. Isabella aged 9 born Long Island, USA, Charles aged 9 born Long Island USA, Louisa aged 6 born Long Island USA
