Born - 1844 September Qtr at Holborn, London
1851 Census - Aged 7 living with Parents at 105 Belgrave Gate, Leicester.
1861 Census - Aged 17, Robert appears as "Serving on HM Ships in Home Waters", his Parents are living at 65 Belgrave Gate, Leicester.

Married - 1870 June Qtr aged 26 to Charlotte Beeton at Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

1877 Dec Qtr George Rodney Chettle born at Ramsey, Cambridgeshire.
1879 September Qtr Harriet Chettle born at Ramsey, Cambridgeshire.
1882 June Qtr William Garibaldi Chettle born at Ramsey, Cambridgeshire.

Occupation - Royal Navy, Hawker.
1881 Census - Aged 37 living at Haddenham, Cambridgeshire. Haddenham is 8 miles from Manea and 3 miles from North Witchford.
Death - 1916 December Qtr aged 72 at Llanelli, South Wales. Probably living with his Son Robert Alfred who was also residing in Llanelli, South Wales.

Robert Chettle had his Uncle (Robert Thomas) and Family living at North Witchford Cambridgeshire and went to that area to live and work. He had a Cousin named Robert who also lived there who married in North Witchford in the June Qtr 1868 and had a Son Robert Thomas born in June Qtr 1869. We have now learned that Roberts Sons, George Rodney and William Garibaldi emigrated to the USA and had Families there. These Families now reside in California.

We are in contact with the descendants of George Rodney Chettle, born 1877 that went to live in the USA. He married Agnes Marsh and we are fortunate to have photographs of him and Agnes:
