Thomas also appears to have been a close friend of the Herrick Family and
may have been related to them through marriage.
His Brother Ralph appears
to have led a less public life. Unfortunately the Wills of Thomas and Ralph
are missing but the records of Leicester tell us that Ralph Chettell had a house
in High Street (Highcross Street) rented out to the Topp Family.
This became the property of Robert Chettle and from here we can follow on
through Parish Records, Register of Freeman and Census Returns to the
present day, each Family telling it's own story:
